Naumi Group (part of SGJ HOLDCO) operates as the corporate entity overseeing Naumi Hotels and managing the underlying property assets. Founded by Executive Chairman Mr Surya Jhunjhnuwala, the group's first hotel was established in Singapore, and it has since expanded its presence globally, maintaining a diverse collection of properties.

Meet our Executive Team

  • Mr Surya Jhunjhnuwala runs the corporate office of Hind Group in Singapore, a consortium of companies dealing in property investments as well as a family office. The Hind Group dates back to 1918, started by Mr Surya’s father. Having a penchant for boutique hotels and personalised hospitality, he created the Naumi Group in 2007.

    In a short span, the award-winning Naumi Hotels has grown from Singapore, multiple cities in Australia and New Zealand, attracting global travellers, who wish for an experiential stay. The brand, embraces Mr Surya’s passion for being one of a kind, in the spheres of design, service to guests and environmental and social responsibility.

  • Gaurang Jhunjhnuwala is the Group CEO of the Naumi Group. Combining his entrepreneurial nature along with an astute eye for design, Gaurang has led the creation of a number of new properties for Naumi, focused on the brand’s consistent development in the Asia Pacific region.

    A graduate of the renowned Babson College, USA, a leading university in the sphere of Entrepreneurship, and a member of the Babson College Global Advisory Committee, Gaurang brings his acumen for business along with his passion for architecture and design to every hotel he develops, to create a unique guest experience.

    He spearheaded the launch of Naumi Auckland Airport in 2018, which won many industry awards and accolades, before leading on the development of three further ground-breaking hotels in New Zealand.

    Gaurang is also involved in numerous philanthropic activities with the mission of reducing food insecurity among children in underserved communities in New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and India, as well as to provide employment opportunities to women from low-income communities.

  • Paul Stocker is a seasoned hospitality professional with over 25 years of leadership experience across major global hospitality brands.

    As Vice President of Operations, Southeast Asia, at Minor Hotels, he led operations and ensured excellence across the portfolio.

    Previously, as Global VP of Operations at Oakwood, he oversaw serviced apartments and hotels worldwide.

    Paul has also held key roles in revenue management and sales with Galaxy Entertainment Group, Meritus Hotels & Resorts, Resorts World Sentosa, and Marina Bay Sands.

    A New Zealand native, he holds a Diploma in Hospitality Management from Auckland University of Technology.
